EM6420 - Capacitive Touch Sensor Interface IC with CURRENT CONSUMPTION 8.5µA @ 3V IN ACTIVE MODE ONLY !!! |
The EM6420 can detect all sensors or the most active sensor in applications where sensors are tightly spaced. To scan more than 16 sensors, several EM6420 can be used in parallel. The device parameters are configurable either from a host microcontroller through a communication port or through configuration inputs. The chip can communicate through several interfaces: 4-wire SPI, I2C, 4-bit parallel interface. The direct output mode is useful for applications without microcontrollers.
The chip starts working at 1.2V. The supply range is selectable by pin; 1.2V to 2.0V or 2.2V to 3.6V are the two configurable voltage ranges. The power consumption 8.5µA @ 3V in active mode is 100 times less than for comparable circuits currently available. |

EM MICROELECTRONIC, TREND-SETTER IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY |
MARIN, Switzerland – January 23rd, 2008 – EM Microelectronic, the semiconductor company of the Swatch Group, today announced that it has already shipped a cumulated amount of over 250 Million Tag-Talks-Only (TTO) UHF RFID chips. The largest part is used for the manufacturing of intelligent labels for garment tagging in the fashion industry. Marks & Spencer uses it to improve their clothing in-store stock levels. Marks & Spencer's RFID initiative in apparel is known to be the world's largest item-level tagging project and thereby establishes EM's UHF chips as a de-facto standard in this field. |

Sophisticated methods of the analog and mixed-signal circuits design in sub-micron technologies |
ASICentrum is co-responsible for solving of the research project GA 102/07/1186 of the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic entitled "Sophisticated methods of the analog and mixed-signal circuits design in sub-micron technologies".
The project is realized in the period 2007-2009 and is being solved in a close co-operation with the co-ordinator which is the reseach group of the Circuits and Systems Laboratory at the Department of Circuit Theory FEE CTU Prague. The main goal of the project is to streamline the design of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit blocks used in signal pre-conditioning circuits (such as electrical filters, amplifiers, A/D converters) and ultra low power applications.
The Maple software as well as professional CAD tools from Cadence and Mentor Graphics are used for effective solving of this project. |

EM6111 - Smaller packaged LCD Controller/Driver |
The new circuit has a driving capability of 1 or 2 rows x 7 columns, with a display refresh implemented internally. The RAM data correspond directly to the LCD pixels (segments); a set bit in the RAM results in an activated LCD pixel. All segments can be individually turned on or off by SET or BLANK bit commands respectively. A 2 wire serial mode interface is used to control the circuit for initialization, memory programming and circuit status readout. Depending on the amount of segments to be controlled, the EM6111 will be operated either in static or in multiplexed mode. The wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and low power consumption makes this component suitable for small devices for indoor as well as outdoor purpose. |

EM6121 and EM6126 - TWO LOW POWER LCD CONTROLLERS/DRIVERS |
The EM6121 is a controller and driver for character monochrome TN and STN LCD displays. It offers a driving capability of 26 rows x 80 columns addressable by the I2C or 3-wire interface. The circuit offers character generator memory for 240 ROM and 16 RAM characters. It includes functions such as cursor, blink, partial mode and scrolling. Because of its internal LCD voltage multiplier, oscillator and bias resistors, the EM6121 eliminates the use of external components.
The EM6126 is an ultra low power bit map controller and driver for full dot matrix monochrome STN LCD displays. It has a driving capability of 81 rows x 102 columns or 65 rows x 118 columns addressable with either of its interfaces. It is capable of internally generating an LCD voltage of up to 11V without the need of external components. Thanks to a factory laser trimming process, the EM6126 offers a high accuracy of frame frequency and LCD voltage. It includes functions such as partial display mode, digitally programmable multiplex rate, as well as selectable and temperature compensated LCD voltages. |
